Care Park is much more than parking and its employees are always finding ways to contribute to community initiatives.

Care Park sales manager Jenna White was recently talking to one of Care Park’s corporate clients – Carol Douglas of the Vibe Hotel Melbourne and heard there were some 100 doonas the hotel didn’t know what to do with.

The Vibe Hotel is currently undertaking a renovation of its rooms. The doonas are all in very good order and hotel quality.

“It seemed such a waste to just throw them out and I really wanted to do something with them that would help other people,” Jenna said.

Jenna recently participated in the CEO Sleepout and is a listed volunteer for the St Vinnies food van. She immediately made contact with the organisation to see what need they had for doonas and where they could be donated.

The doonas from the Vibe Hotel have all been professionally cleaned and charities will be able to distribute them to families in need.

Care Park is a proud sponsor of SARAH – Safer Australian Roads and Highways and this month parkers will see a major roll out of the message at many of Care Park’s car parks in major and regional centres.

Sales and marketing manager Jenna White and Care Park’s nominee in the 2018 Young Achiever Award, has taken up the baton to promote SARAH and its message “Drive So Others Survive”.

The number of lives lost on Australian roads touches everyone in some way as we all use the roads whether as drivers or passengers. Jenna decided to be the driver for change and not just a passenger in life and began to look at how she could become more proactive in saving lives from road deaths.

Her research took her to SARAH. The SARAH message began to be promoted last year at various Care Park sites and is now being rolled out nationally.

Care Park is committed to promoting driver awareness of safer driving on Australian highways and Jenna has continued to identify how to better drive the safer driver message within  Care Park car parks.

More recently, she has championed Care Park’s delivery of site improvements.

Care Park is now installing more driver safety equipment and protocols in our car parks to include:  safety devices which improve awareness of driving behaviour such as mirrors in blind spots, safety zones, way finding signage, clear pedestrian / vehicle interface to create safer environments.

These are now becoming standard features of all new Care Park upgrades and new parking installations and being retrofitted to existing sites.

One of Melbourne’s most iconic sporting complexes and home to international sporting events, the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC) has received a parking makeover giving members, staff and casual users a seamless entry and departure experience.

The car park which operated as an onerous pay and display site requiring people to park, buy a ticket, return to their car to display the ticket then present for entry to the complex facilities was totally at odds with the fun experience this leisure facility provides. The car park did not offer patrons any positive experience with the centre nor customer service qualities.

Today a specially Care Park purposed, integrated automated solution provides a seamless parking experience to allow patrons to get to enjoy the facilities much quicker and with ease.

Care Park delivered a touchless Licence Plate Recognition (LPR) system removing the outdated and ineffective paper-based system for members providing a much more environmentally-friendly solution across the 500 parking bays across multiple car parks.

Care Park delivered a tailored fit-for-purpose solution by integrating the MSAC user database into our access control system using licence plate recognition. The user groups varied from gym members, swimming members, platinum members, sports members, staff and tenants. All of these user groups now seamlessly access the car parks as the LPR system recognises their vehicles licence plate and automatically lifts the boom gate.

Care Park National Commercial Manager Mr Fedi Chalhoub says, “Our goal was to effectively control and manage the access to MSAC for all the user groups for their respective areas of parking across the three car parks and to enable a seamless and positive parking experience which is also extended to casual patrons visiting the facility.”

The benefits of Care Park’s tailored LPR are four-fold:

  • It enables a seamless and touchless entry and exit for MSAC members by identifying their registered licence plate against their valid membership in real time
  • Provides controlled three hours free parking for members
  • Eliminates any abuse of the free parking period by members who may try and use the car park for all day parking
  • Provides a quality parking system for audit management and user behaviour statistics

Mr Chalhoub says, “Having an integrated licence plate recognition system allows a casual customer’s licence plate to be linked to their entry ticket.” This therefore provides:

  • An automated exit for all casual patrons as the LPR system recognises their validated parking
  • No requirement to transact with the exit stations
  • Automatic calculation of parking fee if the person by-passes the pay station and allows Tap and Go payment at exit
  • Integration with event ticketing and swimming carnivals

“The other benefits of our integrated licence plate recognition solution is effective control and management for staff and tenant parking to be limited and only accessible to the staff parking area.

“MSAC is now also able to obtain valuable statistical information on how its members, staff, tenants and casual parkers use the car park so it can plan for future car park demands and requirements,” Mr Chalhoub says.

MSAC users and passers-by will now also benefit from better site signage. The interactive digital signage promotes MSAC events and competitions.

“The real time space available digital displays within key locations at the precinct have improved the customer experience and way finder availability of car parks, security enhancements and vehicle / pedestrian interface for a much safer environment”.

To enhance the features of Care Park’s technology, the car parks are integrated into Care Assist – 24 hour customer support centre which provides on demand, real time customer service and car park monitoring further increasing the customer service standards and accessibility to assistance. This has revolutionised the entire MSAC experience from the moment a patron enters the precinct until they leave.

Care Park is proud to have delivered a seamless parking solution that has integrated the entire MSAC experience.

Victoria’s Western Health sites of Sunshine and Footscray are the latest hospital car parks to be added to Care Park’s growing number of hospitals within its management portfolio.

Care Park is now providing full-time onsite customer service with a manager based at Sunshine and car park attendants at both the Sunshine and Footscray sites.

Currently there is significant development at Sunshine Hospital being undertaken by Western Health. A new multi-deck car park is being built for staff and the public and Care Park is providing expertise and assistance to the hospital to ensure the new car park meets current and future needs and is a state-of-the-art facility.

Paid parking at Sunshine and Footscray hospitals is delivered through pay stations which accept coins, notes, credit cards and credit at exit for public parking. Further easy and convenient parking options are provided for staff who can choose the best paid parking options to suit their needs.

Care Park took over the Sunshine and Footscray car parks in December and the public has welcomed having an onsite manager and parking attendants to call on for any site help.

The Western Health’s Sunshine and Footscray hospitals add to Care Park’s growing portfolio of hospital parking management in Victoria which include Cabrini Hospital in Malvern; Geelong Private Medical Centre, Geelong; Ekera Medical Centre, Box Hill; Monash House Medical Centre, Clayton; and Goulburn Valley Hospital, Shepparton. Care Park also operates hospital parking in Queensland, New South Wales and Tasmania.

While chilly days and nights are starting to set in, one Care Park staff member is just warming up in her efforts to raise money and participate in the annual CEO Sleep Out.

The St Vincent de Paul CEO sleep out will be held on Monday 21 June in Melbourne and Care Park senior sales consultant Jenna White is busily fundraising to support the event which will see her sleeping rough for a night.

Jenna is always at the ready to support not only her colleagues and strive for excellence in the workplace, but she’s the first to put her hand up when it comes to supporting the communities around her.

Jenna heads Care Park’s sales and marketing department and despite a busy schedule that sees her going the extra distance every day to drive results for the company, she identified the CEO Sleepout as an opportunity to help an organisation that supports so many homeless people in our communities.

Jenna is no stranger to seeing homeless people, who from time to time find refuge in car parks. She endeavours to find safe accommodation solutions for them contacting services and organisations that can help the homeless.

“I have a good home, a good job and great support around me. For one night I want to experience what a homeless person’s life must be like. But this is not about just one night, it’s about how can I make a difference to these people’s lives,” Jenna said.

“I have been working hard to raise the minimum $5000 for the CEO sleepout and want to see how much more I can raise to help this worthy cause.

“I’m fortunate I have a supportive employer and Care Park has agreed to donate significantly to this cause over and beyond what I can raise.

“I’m only one person trying to make a difference, but together with all the other CEO’s and senior management staff participating in this event, we will make a significant difference to the lives of Australia’s homeless people.

Anyone who would like to donate to Jenna’s fundraising efforts can phone Care Park enquiries line: 03 9682 1733.

Seamless, convenient, online parking continues to roll out across Care Park’s growing network of Australian car parks.

MyCarePark, the online car park booking portal is now available for 40 Tank Street, Brisbane which Care Park took over its operations in April 2018.

The 300 bay car park is a 24 hour parking facility open every day of the year, located near the busy Roma Street transport hub. The car park offers early bird parking, casual parking, night parking, weekend parking and monthly parking. The car park caters for disabled parkers, has CCTV installed for customer safety and offers direct access to Care Park’s Care Assist staff via intercom.

The MyCarePark app offers attractive discounted booking rates to the advertised rates and customers benefit with the convenience of seamless, guaranteed parking.

MyCarePark works for early birds looking for discounts; allows casual discounted rates and bussinesses looking to pay for customer parking can set up accounts and be invoiced monthly for use

MyCarePark allows customers to search online and purchase a parking ticket in advance for a nominated period. Payments are made at the time of booking. This convenient parking and paying option gives Care Park customers additional, convenient parking options.

Care Park is at the forefront of technological solutions and the MyCarePark online system, which is accessed through the website www.mycarepark.com.au, enables customers to conveniently pay online before leaving home or the office.

Instead of issuing a physical ticket, once payment has been made online customers will be provided with a unique PIN. This number needs to be used to enter and exit the designated car park within the nominated period.

At each entry and exit point of the car park there is a digital pin pad that is used by the driver to enter the unique PIN. This will raise the boom gate, providing access or exit from the car park. Drivers can park in any of the available bays.

The PIN will not be active until 15 minutes before the start time of the reservation. If the exit time is exceeded the PIN will still let the vehicle out of the car park but there will be an additional charge to the nominated credit card. The additional charge is calculated as if the user had purchased an online ticket for the new time duration.

Care Park says the new system continues to win customer approval giving them greater peace of mind as it takes the stress out of searching for a car park and guarantees a parking spot with no more lining up to pay.

My Care Park gives customers the advantage of more parking savings with exclusive discounts only available online. Special early bird rates are also available online.
